Rep. Jeff Jones Petitions DNR to Expand Access to Wildlife Management Areas
ATLANTA - State Representative Jeff Jones (R-Brunswick) recently petitioned the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to expand access to wildlife management areas in Long County, Georgia.
Rep. Jones letter to DNR Commissioner, Mark Williams, dated January 14, 2016, states:
“On behalf of the citizens of Long County, I present to you the attached petition signed by 107 Long County citizens requesting that the Georgia Department of Natural Resources greatly expand the currently very limited access to the DNR managed wildlife management areas in Long County.
“The citizens of Long County, who are great supporters of DNR efforts to protect and enhance Georgia’s wildlife resources for the benefit of all Georgia citizens, have lost the ready, easy access they once enjoyed due to the highly restrictive access times currently in place.
“By this letter, and more importantly, by the support shown by the large number of the outdoor-loving, tax-paying citizens of Long County whose signatures appear on the petition and those who support this request but were unable to sign, we collectively implore the DNR to undertake measures immediately to significantly expand on the current limited access to these areas in Long County.
“It is with the greatest respect that I humbly request that you give this important issue your personal attention to help expedite expanding access to these areas by Long County citizens.”
