Rep Jeff Jones, joined Congressman Buddy Carter, State Senator Ligon and State Representative Don Hogan at the annual Golden Isles Grits-n-Issues breakfast before a record crowd on Friday, December 15, 2017 to discuss legislative issues facing our country and state.
Rep Jones discussed the General Assembly's 2018 Republican Legislative Agenda which includes continued work on rural Georgia economic development, the House originated Adoption bill (HB 159), GA's 2-year $1/2 billion funding of the Teacher Retirement System, the success of the Technical College of GA's graduate successes. Rep Jones also spoke about the status of Plant Vogtle 3&4 nuclear power plant's PSC vote, and an Army Corp dredging project off the coast of the Golden Isles and the use of the sand to bolster the Irma battered, sand-sharing system of our coastline.
Rep Jones also discussed his legislation (HB 484) to stop GA DDS from issuing driver's licenses to illegal aliens, and his continued work on setting legal standards for coal ash storage in the state and protecting citizens as GA Power continues closing coal ash storage ponds.
